About

Giverhard.com started around 2001 in The Annapolis Valley as a way to let people know when our band was playing a show. Pretty soon, it grew into a way to let people know when our friends bands, and their friends bands were playing there as well. After 4 years or so of promoting music and bands through the site, I took it offline because there became better ways to do this. At that time I left the valley and moved to Banff and then Toronto. When I finally arrived in Toronto, I decided to revamp the site to a blog and use it to cover bands, music, and other things that I liked in Toronto. It became more of an ezine and helped provide me many a guest list passes into shows in exchange for reviews. I soon realized I hated writing. So I decided to start filming bands. That’s where the first videos came from. A friend of mine from college Christien had started epkhosting.com and was rather good with film. We arranged a few shows together where I got us in, and he filmed it. I taught him web, he taught me film. We did around 4 videos together in 2 years which are on this site. At that point I moved to Vancouver, and started downhill mountain biking and continued snowboarding. These things grew to be even bigger passions then music for me, so I started filming those as well. This brings us to the present day, where giverhard is on its latest revamp, and can basically be summarized as a video blog. A video blog that covers music, snowboarding, mountain biking, and other sweet things in that exist in a truly west coast lifestyle. Thanks for reading this. Enjoy the site.
